"Perfect Summer Read"
"I feel like I just spent a summer in the woods of Wisconsin! There's a timelessness to the story, the characters, the setting...I've recommended the book to friends, and sent a copy to my niece in high school (she loved it). Kudos to the author for avoiding the cliches and typical tropes that so often smother books like this. I'm surprised it's not already a series or a movie, but I expect that's in the works--it's incredibly cinematic. Who's going to play." Midnight!?!?

"Bryn was able to get into my heart as I grew to love her character. Midnight was my favorite!!!! Carol Lansen does an excellent job of describing each scene so you can visualize yourself there. She really takes the time to ease into each character and place, for me to enjoy the book at my own pace."

Lansen’s characters instantly reel you in to the story as Bryn and her close-knit group of friends navigate the unexpected and life-altering twists that test their friendship in ways they never imagined.
Through this rich writing, I felt like I took a virtual trip to Wisconsin, the scenery was vivid and inviting, the characters – both the group of adolescents and adults that make up their families – are so authentic and nuanced they felt like old friends by the time I finished the book.
